FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Call for Entries – NRB Media Showcase 2011

Entries for the 2011 edition of the National Religious Broadcasters Media Showcase are being accepted until February 10, 2011.  There is still time and the categories have been expanded to include additional areas of interest. The People’s Choice Award Categories include Children/Teen,Spot/PSA, Dramatic, Ministry/Church, Teaching, Music Video, Reality and News/Documentary. Judges and NOVA Award Categories include Best Program (any length – full program), Best Music Video (music videos only in this category), Best Spot (any PSA or TV commercial) and Best Movie (any feature-length movie).

Entry fees have been reduced for members and non-members and 2011 promises to be an excellent year to show work you have done.

“The Showcase is an excellent opportunity for producers to show off their programs, especially if they are trying to be noticed by network programmers,” according to Lee Miller, chairman of the NRB TV Committee. “Some of the best programs on Christian TV got their start by entering the Showcase.”

The Showcase Entry Form can be downloaded as a .pdf from www.nrbconvention.org and click “programs,” “special venues” and then “TV Showcase.”  On the page there is a link to download the form.  All the information you need to enter your work is contained on the form.

“A couple of opportunities are available with the Showcase to have your program critically judged by a panel of industry experts through the NOVA Award and the Judges Awards,” says Sam Wagner, NRB TV Showcase Chair. “Or you can simply enter your program to be viewed in the Showcase and compete for the People’s Choice Award.”

The Showcase itself will be held on Sunday, February 27,2011 from 3-6pm in Bayou A/B at Gaylord Opryland in Nashville TN.  The ever popular People’s Choice Awards and an expanded venue are expected to bring in a good turnout of entries.

The Showcase is also an opportunity for those in need of programs to see what is available and to get contact information and talk with producers and directors.  Station managers and program directors find the venue convenient to check out new products and see current work that may not yet be owned by networks or affiliates.

Frequently, Showcase winners find themselves with invitations into markets and onto stations that otherwise might be very difficult to enjoy.

Randy Weiss from the program “CrossTalk” and “Today with God” entered the showcase with his very first program, “The NRB TV Showcase helped our program reach network distribution and I encourage producers young and old to submit a program. I even plan to have a new program in the Showcase this year.”

All those with questions are invited to contact Lee Miller of MSGPR at (936) 637-7593 or info@msgpr.com
